Born in Ottawa, Canada on August 13, 1976, Rohin Khemani is a drummer/percussionist specializing in original music and creative improvising. He brings both sensitivity and a dynamic energy to his approach and cites diverse influences from jazz, classical, and Indian music to rock and world percussion. He began to first study music as a classical violinist performing in recitals and youth orchestras from the age of six through Canada's Royal Conservatory of Music.

Rohin holds a bachelor of music degree from Berklee College of Music and a masters from the Manhattan School of Music and has studied with musicians including Jim Blackley, Kenwood Dennard, Pandit Rajiv Devasthali, Manu Katche, Yusef Lateef, Jerry Leake, David Liebman, John Ramsay, John Riley, Max Roach, and Barry Romberg. He has been pursuing ongoing studies on tabla in Hindustani (North Indian) classical music with Pandit Samir Chatterjee since 2002.

Rohin is a regular member of several ensembles including alice., Noah Jarrett's Knu Gmoon, The Sleep In Your Eyes, Adam Niewood's Rabble Rousers, Red Baraat, Ugandan singer/songwriter Omega, Brooklyn-based indie rock band For Feather and Bash The Trash. He also leads and co-leads ensembles in New York, tours extensively as a freelance musician, and has collaborated with many respected musicians from around the world. Rohin lives in Manhattan with his wife, artist Sarah Rowe and their daughter, Amelia.
